What we collect
When you use Enduring Thread Kitchen, we collect:
- Account info: your email address and display name (and optionally an avatar, cooking-skill level, measurement preference).
- Recipes you create: titles, ingredients, steps, photos, tags, categories.
- Stories you write: the text of any notes or stories you post on a recipe.
- Family group memberships: which groups you belong to and your role in each.
- Operational data: sign-in timestamps, password resets, error reports you submit. Used to keep the Service running and to fix problems.
How we use it
We use your data to:
- Run the Service for you (sign you in, show your recipes).
- Share content with the family members you choose to share with — only with people in groups you joined and only the recipes you opted to share.
- Send you transactional emails (sign-in confirmations, password resets, family-group invitations).
- Diagnose problems if you submit an error report.
We do notsell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Sharing
The only people who see your recipes are: you, and members of family groups you’ve shared specific recipes into. We don’t share your data with other companies for their marketing.
We use a small number of service providers to run the platform — for example, our hosting provider, our database, and our email delivery service. These providers process data only on our behalf, under contract.
Storage and security
Your data is stored in our database (currently Supabase, hosted in the United States) and our file storage (for photos). Connections use HTTPS. We use row-level security rules so that only you (and the family members you choose) can read your recipes.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- See your data — every recipe, story, and profile field is visible inside the app.
- Download a copy— Settings » Account » Download my data exports a ZIP archive of everything you own.
- Correct your data — edit your profile, recipes, and stories from inside the app.
- Delete your account— Settings » Account » Delete account permanently removes your account, your recipes, your avatar, and your group memberships. (Stories you wrote on others’ recipes stay on those recipes with your name removed, so the family record isn’t lost.)
If you’re in the EU/UK or elsewhere with similar rights, the items above cover the typical access / rectification / portability / erasure requests. Reach out if you’d like a formal response.
Cookies
We use a single category of cookie: a session-auth cookie that signs you in. It’s strictly necessary for the Service to work. We don’t use cookies for analytics or advertising right now. If we add analytics in the future, we’ll update this section and (if relevant for your region) add a consent prompt.
Children's privacy
Enduring Thread Kitchen isn’t intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in some EU/UK contexts). We don’t knowingly collect data from children in those age groups. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us so we can remove the account.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a meaningful change, we’ll notify you (by email or in-app) before it takes effect.
